Manchester 2009: Working for Inclusion

Manchester Metropolitan University 10-11 September 2009

This year's BASE conference took place at Manchester's Metropolitan University.

The conference, entitled "Working for Inclusion", focused on supporting those most excluded from the labour market. With only 10% of people with a learning disability or long term mental health needs in paid employment, the conference looked at policy initiatives and best practice to improve these employment rates. This included the potential impact of individualised budgets, public service agreements and the new employment strategies for learning disability, autism and mental health.
